Weatherman。" 美国人最喜欢说:"shit happens everyday"(糟糕的事情时有发生),"sometimes you have to take it."(有时候你不得不欣然接受这个事实)。
Easy doesn't enter into grow-up life是Churchill说的,原文是:Easy doesn't enter into grow-up life. We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give-Sir Winston Churchill
1. Easy doesn't enter into grow-up life.
David: We both just think it's better for the kids
Dad: David. Sacrifice is …to get anything of value, you have to sacrifice.
David: I know that dad, but I think if we continue down this road, it's gonna be too detrimental…for the kids. It' s just too hard.
Dad: Do you know that the harder thing to do and the right thing to do …are usually the same thing? Nothing that has meaning is easy. Easy doesn't enter into grow-up life.
2. Camel Toe
David: So how's everything going?
Daughter: Good.
David: How's school?
Daughter: Good.
David: Dance school?
Daughter: Good.
David: You know, when I was in school… I guess the hardest thing was how other kids can be a little mean… Names and stuff. Do you ever get called names?
Daughter: Like what?
David: I don't know, like "Dummy" if you miss a question or "camel toe"…
Daughter: Yeah, "Camel toe".
David: Do you know why?
Daughter: Why what?
David: Why you get called "Camel toe"?
Daughter: Yeah.
David: Why, honey?
Daughter: Because camel toes are tough. They can walk all over the desert and all the hot rocks. I'm tough.
David: That's right. It's because they are tough. You ready to shop again?
Daughter: I think they make car tires out of camel toes…
David: Yeah, I think I heard that…
3. I'm fast food
The first time I was struck with something, is a chicken breast from Kenny Rogers. I was standing next to a garbage pail. I thought it might have been an accident, that they were throwing it out. The second time, it hit me square on the chin, a soft taco. Then, pop. A palafel. McNuggets. Always fast food. Fast food. Shit people would rather throw out than finish. It's easy. It tastes all right, but it doesn't provide you any nourishment. I am fast food.
4. There's always looking after
Dad: You always worry about your kids, no matter how old, there's always looking after...I read your book.
David: Fuck! I was going to do some more work on it, then I chucked it
Dad: You chucked it
David: Garbage
Dad: It's just want I do, David. I've practiced and I've gotten good, like you and the weather business.
David: But I don't predict it. Nobody does, 'cause it's just wind, it's wind. It blows all over the place. What the ****! …. I have to go to work.
Dad: David, this shit life… We must chuck things. We must chuck them in this shit life. There's always looking after. You have time.
David: Thanks.
